The homes at Prinses Christinalaan 12 to 82a in the municipality of Uithoorn are over 60 years old. Studies have shown that the structural in of integrity of the houses is lacking. That is why these homes are being replaced by new construction by Eigen Haard. The lower-upper housing units will make way for approximately 42 ground-based rental homes for families.
During the plan development, 1 block of homes will be converted from natural gas to hydrogen in collaboration with Stedin, the municipality of Uithoorn and DNV GL. In a number of demolished homes, the existing natural gas network was converted and made suitable for hydrogen. For example, the project teaches parties more about whether the natural gas network can easily be made suitable for hydrogen, how much time it takes to prepare the gas network for the transport and use of hydrogen in existing homes. More information about this construction project can be found on the website of Stedin.
Zephyr Real Estate carried out the project management of the conversion exercise on behalf of Woningstichting Eigen Haard from Amsterdam.
